John leads Rutherfoord’s sales efforts and has oversight of the Roanoke, Lynchburg and Knoxville divisions. He is vice chair of the President's Council and also works closely with construction, aggregate and health care clients. John graduated from the University of Virginia and began his insurance career in life and health insurance before moving on to automation solutions for property and casualty insurance agencies. He joined Rutherfoord in 1987 and later became the Roanoke division manager. In 2009 he was appointed president of the Roanoke division, and in 2011was appointed executive vice president of sales. John has obtained the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation and the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. He has completed seven James K. Ruble Seminars on Advanced Coverages and has served on the PMA Advisory Board in Virginia and the CNA PACER group and he currently serves on the Key Risk Advisory Board.
